2026 marks two decades since full diplomatic relations were created
between the Principality and the United States. Monaco’s Embassy in Washington, D.C. was then established anchoring a permanent diplomatic presence, a deepening cooperation and shared priorities across institutions, culture, and education.

On October 26, 2023, His Serene Highness Prince Albert accepted the Mayor of Philadelphia, Jim Kenney’s proclamation naming that date “Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation & Monaco Day” in the City of Brotherly Love!
The Embassy and the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation-USA collaborated with the Philadelphia Horticultural Society (PHS) for their March 2020 annual Flower Show – the oldest and largest in the USA. Little Andrew Benson was a patient at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee, when he received a royal visit from HSH Prince Albert in October 2005. Monaco has a long and rewarding history of support of St. Jude’s over many years.

As part of the Kennedy Center’s EARTH TO SPACE: Arts Breaking the Sky festival, a talk called “Monaco’s Leap to The Stars” was held to a sold-out house on March 29, 2025.
Moderated by former astronaut and NASA associate administrator, Bob Cabana, the discussion included luminaries: Jaret Matthews, founder and CEO of Astrolab; Ellen Stofan, Under Secretary for Science and Research at the Smithsonian; Sen. Bill Nelson, former astronaut and NASA Administrator; and Commander Michael Lopez-Alegria, Chief Astronaut at Axiom Space.
